Teach English Abroad in France: Crepes & Coffee
Hello, my name is Angelique!
Starting in January 2026, we decided to end our tutor/teach to a Spanish host family program. We still offer our Teach English Abroad program in Barcelona. As we know from our old tutor program, most people who come on this program have wanted to live in Barcelona for years. They've googled "how to move to Spain legally" and hit walls. Work visas are hard. Student visas are expensive and offer nothing in return. This program threads the needle: an education visa that legally allows you to earn, a teaching placement that pays a growing salary, and 280 hours of Spanish classes baked in — because Spain requires it, and because you'll want them anyway.
Have you always wanted to teach English in Spain and live like a local? This volunteer teaching assignment is in a regular community school about 40 minutes outside of Barcelona. This isn't a private “language school” but a regular community school where the local families send their children each day. You will teach students and faculty in English and coordinate your activities with the Headmaster at the school where you are placed. Your room and board is free and covered when you stay with a Spanish host family.
When you teach English abroad in Barcelona, you will actually be in the classroom teaching Spanish students English. And you will be helping Spanish teachers who are teaching English. Before you depart for Spain you will have an opportunity to learn more about the expectations and to give you an opportunity to prepare in advance of your arrival in the Barcelona area.
Live with a host family and receive a private bedroom and 3-meals each day. You can have lunch at the school, or bring a packed lunch from your host family’s house when you’re at the school. You may actually live with local families whose children attend the schools. And there is also a chance that you could even live with multiple families and get to know more of the locals.
