Overview

This is an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in the German language, culture, and cuisine for 2 or 3 months. You'll have the chance to experience life as a local by staying with a carefully selected host family and truly become a part of the community. In exchange for up to 15 hours a week, you'll help your host family improve their conversational English skills. The rest of your time is yours to explore your new surroundings, discover the hidden gems of the community, and meet friendly locals. We will also include your meals and a private bedroom to call home in your new German community.

Fees

To secure your spot, pay a $350 deposit. When you approve your host family, you will pay a $500 placement fee. And 60 days before departure, we'll invoice you for the final payment of $149.
The flat fee for 2 or 3 months is $999.

Responsibilities

Ensure punctuality for all tutoring sessions with your host family.
Provide conversational English tutoring to your host family for a maximum of 15 hours per week.
Please make sure to keep your private bedroom clean and organized.
Avoid staying up late and disturbing your host family without their permission.
Utilize our comprehensive A Tutor's Guide to create engaging and enjoyable lessons based on the plan you and the host family have established.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Older participants will require more flexibility in terms of timing and placement, as some host families may prefer younger tutors. If you're over 30, we'll place you, but you must be extremely flexible on your travel dates.
While native English speakers are preferred, non-native speakers with a clear accent may also be considered. In such cases, we may request that you take the iTEP Conversation test and achieve a minimum score of CEFR C1.
Applicants must possess at least a high school diploma.
