GeoVisions Foundation and Renzulli Learning Partner on Teach Abroad

The GeoVisions Foundation has announced the development of a strategic partnership with Renzulli Learning of New Haven, Connecticut.

Renzulli Learning LogoRenzulli Learning is the leading distributor of curriculum software for schools, teachers and families to develop individualized and project-based learning, creativity, problem solving and global competency.  Over 1,000,000 students worldwide utilize the Renzulli system and software, which is available in fifteen languages.

The GeoVisions Foundation promotes competence-building in the English language by developing programs for native English speakers who travel to foreign countries to tutor and teach English Language Learners (ELL’s).

Under this new cooperation, GeoVisions tutors and teachers will receive training in the Renzulli method and software in cooperation with Dr. Joseph Renzulli and Dr. Sally Reis at the University of Connecticut.  Students will benefit from the individualized, project-based learning that defines Renzulli Learning.  This will be equally effective for the young learner being tutored in a homestay, and to classroom students where a GeoVisions Foundation teacher is assigned.

A GeoVisions teacher in Thailand using the Renzulli Learning method of English learning.Randy LeGrant, Executive Director of the Foundation, says “This is a game-changer in terms of quality and consistency of instruction and differentiation of results for young people around the world learning English.  The introduction of critical thinking, creativity and teamwork to the basic concept of tutoring and teaching, will lead to a higher level of success among our language learners.”

The Renzulli Method was developed based on the research of Dr. Joseph S. Renzulli, and Dr. Sally Reis, noted educational psychologists at the University of Connecticut.  Renzulli was named by the American Psychological Association as one of the 25 most influential psychologists in the world.  He serves as the Director of the Renzulli Center for Creativity, Giftedness, and Talent Development at the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education.

Participants are eligible to receive a Certificate documenting Contact Hours issued by the University of Connecticut. It is the participant’s responsibility to determine if their home state/agency/professional association recognizes Contact Hours. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are not offered by the University of Connecticut. The University of Connecticut is not responsible for the design, development or delivery of this program.

The Renzulli Software will be made available to tutors, teachers, schools and host families at no cost under a grant from the GeoVisions Foundation.
