Overview

Located in Havana, Cuba - Learn Spanish and Dance, Culture, and Volunteering. Travel with us and discover Cuba and life with Cuban People.

We include a few Spanish classes by a licensed Spanish teacher if you want to learn Cuban Spanish. We also include dance lessons that feature Salsa but depending on your progress, you may also be introduced to Kizomba, Bachata, Reggaeton, Son, Rueda de Casino, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, and Rumba and perhaps a few moves you haven’t heard of!

We take you on adventures to help you understand and enjoy the history of Cuba and Havana.  You will quickly feel at home and gain the knowledge and confidence to enjoy the city during your own time with newfound travelers and Cuban friends.

Day-By-Day-Itinerary

• Day 1 - Saturday
  • Havana arrival. We will collect you at the airport and bring you to your licensed Casa.
  • Get settled with a roof-top drink with music and dance.
  • Dinner on your own.
• Day 2 - Sunday
  • Included breakfast.
  • Welcome walk of the neighborhood in Havana Vieja. Walk by the local shops, change money, use an ATM, and look at the local restaurants.
  • Included lunch at the casa.
  • Visit Paseo del Prado - Art fair and local art galleries / meet the locals.
  • Dinner on your own
• Day 3 - Monday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • Guided tour of the National Museum of Fine Arts and/or the museum of revolution.
  • Included Lunch at the Casa.
  • 14:00 to 17:00 Spanish Class.
  • Dinner on your own.
• Day 4 - Tuesday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • 09:00 – 12:00 Spanish Class.
  • Included Lunch at the Casa.
  • 14:00 – 15:00 Professional Dance Class at Casa del Son.

• Day 5 - Wednesday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • 09:00 to 12:00 Spanish Class.
  • Included Lunch at the casa.
  • Culture Walk to the Malecon.
  • Dinner on your own.
• Day 6 - Thursday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • Full Day guided historical walk to Old Havana’s most important plazas / the Tabacco Shops / Perfumeria / Pharmacies & Galleries
  • Spanish class is during the walk as your Guide will teach you some skills.
  • Lunch is included.
  • Dinner on your own
• Day 7 - Friday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • 09:00 to 12:00 free time to explore the streets of Havana.
  • Included Lunch at the Casa.
  • 14:00 – 15:00 Professional Dance Class at Casa del Son.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Music club in the evening. This is a guided night out at a salsa club. (*Club entrances not included)
• Day 8 - Saturday
  • Included breakfast at the casa.
  • Guided beach excursion.
  • Included Lunch.
  • Pack your bags and enjoy a little free time in the afternoon. Or, stay at the beach all day. Just be sure you’re ready for your last guided night out in Havana (*Club entrances not included).
  • Dinner on your own.
  • A guided night out to the Parisian Cabaret show at the iconic Hotel National.
• Day 9 - Sunday
  • Included breakfast.
  • Return flight to the US.

Program Description

• Spanish Classes
  • Your teacher is licensed, and on day one, you receive a short test to establish your level and objectives. Lessons take the format of 3 x 45-minute lessons with 15-minute breaks to refresh.
• Dance Classes
  • In the 1hr. dance classes, you are taken through your paces – lessons feature Salsa but depending on your progress, you may also be introduced to Kizomba, Bachata, Reggaeton, Son, Rueda de Casino, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, and perhaps a few moves you haven’t heard of! The lessons are delivered a short walk from your Casa by a licensed dance instructor, and in the evenings, there are MANY free live music venues where you can do your homework!
• Welcome Camino
  • On your first day in Havana, you are taken on a short walking tour – usually within 24 hours of your arrival – to familiarise you with your new surroundings and to give you a flavor of the opportunities to enjoy your free time.
• Beach Excursion
  • You are accompanied on a day trip to the beaches directly east of Havana. Journey time is 30 minutes by bus, and you can enjoy the exhilarating rollers that break on these pristine sandy beaches.
• Guided Culture Walks
  • Hop onto a Wah-Wah (fume-belching local bendy bus) or Colectivo (classic car/ communal taxi) and take to the streets to discover the real Havana. Understand how Habaneros live; the practical day-to-day issues Cubans face living in this complicated country at this exciting time, and help us take away some answers to our own ‘first world’ problems! We take you on an adventure to help you understand and enjoy the history of Cuba and
    Havana.
    
    Understand the source of her amazing wealth, the rich cultural mix, marvel at the faded patina of Havana’s
    famous gorgeous Neo-classical architecture, the rumble of classic American cars, curious soviet era high-rise buildings, ubiquitous live music on every street, dance, exotic religions etc. the list is endless. You will quickly feel at home and gain the knowledge and confidence to enjoy the city during your own time with newfound travelers and Cuban friends. You have been immersed into the Cuban culture - enjoy!
    
    These cultural experiences and excursions are with our trained local guides, who will show you how to buy (and spend!) local pesos, take local transport, and generally make you feel at home and comfortable with your new surroundings.
